Two MAIN points for March; I started running again and I got a job!!
I start as a full time travel consultant at the end of April!! It might not be my dream job but it holds a lot of potential plus it brings me closer to my (our) dream of owning a house!!
There are so many other perks with the job such as FREE tea and coffee (a necessity in my eyes), my birthday off every year and discounted gym memberships. Now that I have started running again doing the odd gym session here and there to keep things varied at a discounted price seems quite desirable if you ask me? I had forgotten how much I enjoyed running until I got the Nike running App (the free one naturally). I like how it maps where you run using GPS and not only records how far and quick you are going but also your average speed per mile; plus you can share it on Facebook for extra self-satisfaction!! You will notice on Pinterest I have created a whole board for motivation and I am even considering treating myself to pair of new trainers...
I expect you are wondering about the photos and how they are in any way related to this post? Well as you know Mikey has his own business so I understand the importance of social networking and online promotion so in the spirit of helping out other small up-and-coming entrepreneurs I thought I would share my experience at Hazel Williams Hairdressing.
Hidden down Meadow Walk at the end of a garden in Maidstone is "The Cabin".
On entering you are greeted by a vintage floor length mirror that bounces the light off the pastel pink walls popping out flashes of pink in the floral arrangements and the towels. The ambiance is that of cool chic, light and welcoming with attention to detail.
There are all the essentials of any professional salon: the latest fashion magazines with glossy trends splashed across their pages and tea served in an eloquent cup and saucer (not forgetting those biscuits you can only ever seem to get at a hair salon or with a latte from your local coffee shop!!) The music I feel also deserves a mention: you can choose Radio 1's live lounge covers to something a bit more edgier because you are the only one listening!! It is an intimate experience where you know you have their undivided attention but it doesn't feel crowded despite the smaller size of the purpose built Cabin.
I also have to say there is something quite tranquil about sitting in the salon chair waiting for your colour to process with the sunshine beaming through the windows just enjoying your tea and browse through the latest high street hottest. However the magic is yet to happen; not being connected to the main waterworks the salon has the most fantastic gadget I have ever seen. A portable shower!! The U shape basin you rest your head on is the same as any salon but the shower is amazing!! You wouldn't know any different!! And we all know the hot towel and head massage speak for themselves so the only question is: When are you going to book?
